The Last Lecture

Quick note for all those ANU students out there: tomorrow is the last day to nominate someone for the 2006 'Last Lecture'. There are details about the event and process here, and you can find the nomination form here. The Last Lecture is one of the events to come out of the office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor for University Community**; you might have seen the rather bizarre looking posters around, with a picture of a, frankly rather intimidating, woman on an orange background. It's a rather random concept, but I quite like the idea. And there's free refreshments involved, so it can't be all that bad...

So! Go ahead and nominate your favourite lecturer, and then go back on Tuesday 10 October and vote for them. It'll be fun!

** I know it's pretty glaringly obvious that I adore my university, but can I just have a mini-rave about how incredible it is that we have an entire senior position devoted entirely to developing a better university community? Sure we have the standard people in charge of research and education and development, but community?! That's pretty wonderful right there.
