Monday meme time!

1. Do you have a photo blog? If so, feel free to share the link with us! I tried to keep one for a while at http://prettypics.blogspot.com, but gave that up pretty quickly. These days I mostly post photos here and to my flickr photostream.

2. How many pets do you own, and what are their names? If none, have you had a favorite pet in the past? I don't have a pet myself, but my family has a cat called Kevin at home. We've had a series of cats since I was little, plus a few birds.

3. How many times a week does the carpet in your house get vacuumed? No carpet? How many times a MONTH do your floors get mopped? Um, the answer to this one is probably not often enough. I'd say the floor in my room gets vacuumed a couple of times a term, which I know is absolutely atrocious. One day I'll try harder... At home in Tassie, the floors get done once a week, but that's really only because we pay someone to come in and do it!

4. Which room in your house do you spend the most time in? My 'study' area I guess.

5. Have you read any good books lately? My reading has been embarrassingly light, lately. I have to read 'Walden' by Thoreau for American history this semester, and so far that is looking absolutely brilliant. Over the summer I read all of the books in the Lord Peter Wimsey series that featured Harriet Vane, which were absolutely wonderful. Gaudy Night especially - it's long, and quite a challenging read for a mystery novel (but then that could be said for all of Sayers' books), but completely worth it, if only for the excruciatingly slow build-up to the final scene.

6. What is your biggest source of news? (Newspaper? Television? Radio? Other?) A combination of radio and internet, I guess. I listen to ABC news radio while I'm getting ready in the morning, which I find is a really good, 'low-impact' way of getting the news of the day. And then I'll visit the Google news and ABC news websites during the day. If I'm lucky I'll get to read a newspaper at breakfast, but usually I'm a little too late to get the main sections! For some reason, though, I'm the only one who wants the IT section on Tuesdays... :)
