Grey areas

For two days I've been putting off writing an email to a girl that, I suspect, has been waiting just a bit anxiously for a reply.

I've never been very good about talking about how I'm feeling, and writing about it is even worse. Particularly when, to be a tad over dramatic, the fate of a 7-year friendship depends on it. I think the thing I'm having trouble with is deciding whether we've been close friends for the last 4 or so years, or have in fact just been 'pretending' because to acknowledge that it was over a long time ago would have been just too hard.

Although it would have made my situation right now infinitely easier.
